Delaware Chapter ACEP promotes the highest principles of emergency medicine and is the leading advocate for emergency physicians, their patients and the public. We are actively involved in a wide range of issues, including access to emergency psychiatric care, EMS funding and Medicaid funding.
The Chapter was founded in 1970 and actively represents more than 150 emergency physicians, residents and medical students. Delaware ACEP is a diverse and democratic organization that promotes and preserves the integrity and independence of emergency medical practice.
Chapter Infrastructure
It is essential to develop a strong chapter infrastructure. In the past 2 years, we have written and adopted chapter bylaws, created a Board of Directors and developed written job descriptions for chapter officers. We also reevaluated our investments and developed a better understanding of the restrictions preventing political contributions by our chapter. These changes have encouraged regular involvement of members from each hospital within the state, clarified responsibilities and created greater stability for the organization.
